How to get the MVP transform or texture coordinates of the current image layer?

osg::Group* g = new osg::Group();
g->addChild(earth);

g->getOrCreateStateSet()->getOrCreateUniform("transformMVP", osg::Uniform::FLOAT_MAT4);

I want to create a uniform transform for the shader to read.  However, I don't know the function call for g->() in order to retrieve it's current model-view-projection matrix.

Any help would be appreciated.
