Rendering airplane trajectory

Hello!

My goal is to render airplane trajectory (which is just a vector of wgs-84 points: lat, lon, alt).
I did it with C++ using Feature and Feature node. Looks OK, but following question arises: is it correct way to solve such a problem? Is it optimal?
Second thing: i would like to set vertices colors depending on parameters of points, for example speed or altitude. Is it possible? The only way I found is to kinda invent ColorSymbol and deal with it inside BuildGeometryFilter or modify LineSymbol. But this approach is pretty complicated for me. Is there any way to do it simplier?
Third question is: is osgEarth a good choice to render realtime trajectory data?

Re: Rendering airplane trajectory

Hi D216,

Yes, osgEarth is a good choice for rendering realtime airplane trajectory data. However the FeatureNode may not be the best choice, because it is really designed to display static features.

You are probably better off writing your own code to draw realtime air tracks. That way you will have complete control over the behavior.

The new LineDrawable class might be useful for this.
