I went thru the bostan building construction example.
it s pretty gud and quite similar to GML construction.
I understand the way that the shape is used to map the buildings to appropriate geo locations on earth and the building geometry is fed thru xml file.
Well, Is the mapping done fully manual by associating the key between xml and shape?
And, Is the shape file is made specific to such a construction?
I'm not sure what your first question means. What XML file are you referring to?
As for the second question, the "boston.earth" example is just reading building footprint geometry from a standard shp file. There is nothing special about it; though it does have a height attribute ("story_ht_") that we're using to decide how high to extrude the building geometry.
