problem about elevation

hi
I have a digital terrain elevation data(DTED)
i use .earth file To visualize the elevation of terrain

    <sky_gl/>

    <elevation name="n49" driver="gdal" visble="true">

        <url>E://DTED//e000//n49.dt1</url>

                <profile>spherical-mercator</profile>

            <extensions><sky driver="gl"/></extensions>

    </elevation>

   <vertical_scale>1</vertical_scale>
The execution result the command "osgearth_viewer file.earth"

Re: problem about elevation

The error message on the console tells you what the issue is :)  Just remove the  <profile>spherical-mercator</profile> line from your layer and let osgEarth grab the proper georefencing from the dted file itself and it should work.

Re: problem about elevation

Try removing everything from the map except the elevation layer itself and see if osgEarth can get the profile from the file itself.

<map type="flat">
    <elevation driver="gdal" url="E:/DTED/e000/n49.dt1"/>
</map>

Another issue I see is your use of double back slashes.  That shouldn't be necessary, so try making your path just use single back slashes like this:
E:/DTED/e000/n49.dt1  instead of E://DTED//e000//n49.dt1
